Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 2, 2026 · Version 1.0

MacBridge is a native remote desktop application for macOS and iPadOS engineered on a zero-telemetry, zero-cloud architecture. Your screen pixels, keystrokes, and network parameters belong exclusively to you.

1. Core Architectural Guarantees

2. Handling of Local Display & Input Data

Screen Capture & Video Encoding

When an authenticated session is active, macOS ScreenCaptureKit captures display frames in volatile RAM. Frames are hardware-encoded via VideoToolbox (H.264) and sent directly over the authenticated mTLS connection. Video frames are never written to disk, cached, or transmitted to any third party.

Keyboard, Trackpad, and Touchscreen Input

Input from your iPad is normalized through Apple's UIKit APIs, transmitted over the encrypted tunnel, and injected into the macOS window server via Quartz Event Services. Input events exist only in memory during the stream and are never logged or stored.

Device Cryptographic Identities

Each device generates a persistent 256-bit cryptographic identity (Ed25519 / P-256) stored securely in the hardware Secure Enclave or Keychain. Public keys and SHA-256 fingerprints are exchanged exclusively during explicit user-approved pairing.

Nearby Discovery (Bluetooth & Local Network)

To discover your Mac without requiring manual IP entry, MacBridge Host advertises over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Bonjour. The advertisement contains a randomly generated discovery ID and current local IP addresses. It is used solely to facilitate the direct local connection. MacBridge does not track devices across physical locations.

3. System Permissions

4. In-App Purchases

Optional lifetime unlocks are handled exclusively through Apple's native StoreKit 2 framework. Apple processes payment information under their Media Services terms. MacBridge never collects or accesses your payment details.

5. Apple Privacy Manifest (NSPrivacy)

In full compliance with Apple requirements (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy), MacBridge declares zero tracking and zero tracking domains. Sanctioned reason APIs used include NSPrivacyAccessedAPITypeUserDefaults (Reason CA92.1) and NSPrivacyAccessedAPITypeSystemBootTime (Reason 35F9.1).
